Pantry Constructed, Tile Laid

After eight days of work, spanning two Wednesdays, my kitchen has the appearance of completion from a construction perspective. Yesterday the sheetrock went up around my newly-formed pantry’s pocket door and the last of the floor tile was laid.

My appliances are happily sitting in the garage so I may be close to seeing my new fridge, oven, and dish washer installed. The cooktop and sink must wait for the countertop, which is expected next Wednesday. The hood will follow the installation of the wall tile. But since I do not yet even own wall tile I am not sure how long this will be.

Now the pictures.

The pocket door installation is complete. A light to the closet is controlled by a switch on the frame so the light automatically turns on when the door is opened.

The tile installation was completed yesterday. Grout is going in as I write this.

This is about the widest view you can get of the completed work. I hope I see a fridge and oven occupying those spaces soon.
